??At 5:26pm on August 21, an eleven-storey building located at Hengxi Village of Henglan Town collapsed in just a few seconds -- the tallest illegal building in Henglan was demolished through explosion.
??The building, which was built in 2013, covered an area of 323 square meters. However, the owner Mr Luo did not obtain approval before construction. In August this year, Henglan Town government decided to demolish the building through explosion after a series of assessment.
??It is estimated that the construction cost of the illegal building was between 4 million yuan and 5 million yuan. Besides, the owner also had to bear the cost of the blasting demolition.
??The demolition is a part of Zhongshan’s “Blue Arrow” illegal building governance campaign. “Everything should be subject to the law. Everyone should follow the law,” said Mr Liang, a citizen who watched the demolition on the scene.
