The first completed part of the Museum of Chinese Architectural Woodcarving was opened last year with the focus on display of the “bed made by a thousand days’ work” and related wood carving arts for home decoration. On January 23, the second phase of the museum was unveiled at the cultural center in the southern district with the focus on display of art accessories of ancient architecture including carved beams and painted pillars, ceilings, doors, windows, and precious supporting bracket.
The sponsor explored many cities in the Pearl River Delta and finally decided to set the southern China head office of Wang Fung Art Gallery in Zhongshan. The museum aims to have interaction between the painting work market and Zhongshan’s historical and humanistic resources and furniture specialty industry so as to improve the taste of the civilized city and its cultural city construction.
