According to a report the Zhongshan Investigation Team of the National Bureau of Statistics released on October 24, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of Zhongshan increased by 1.9% year-on-year in the first three quarters of this year, 0.4 percentage points lower than the provincial average.
Food prices rose by 0.6%. Among the prices of 14 food subcategories surveyed, 12 rose while 2 fell. The prices of cooking oil, fresh fruit and fresh vegetables increased by 10.8%, 7.2% and 6.0% respectively. The price of pork fell by 20.5%.
The price of industrial products rose by 3.9%, a decrease of 0.4 percentage points compared with the first half of the year, mainly due to the impact of falling energy prices. Gasoline, diesel and liquefied petroleum gas prices increased by 24.8%, 27.1% and 17.7% respectively, lower than in the first half of the year. The price of industrial products (excluding energy products) rose by 1.1%.
