Glimpse at the bank of the beautiful Qijiang River
A series of campaigns was launched in Sun Yat-sen Memorial Park with the theme of “a green life and beautiful homeland” yesterday. On the same day, Zhongshan’s first electric bus and charging station were put into use while the downtown greenway project was started.
Zhongshan issued Plan on the Development of New-energy Industries in Zhongshan, which suggests annual 30 million yuan be invested in new-energy development in 3 years, starting from 2010. Broad-ocean Motor set up a laboratory for electricity driving at the end of last year; Zhongshan City signed a contract with a State-owned enterprise on production commercial vehicles and lithium batteries this March. According to prospective goal, the gross output value of six new-energy industries that are wind power, LED, new-energy vehicles, solar power, nuclear power and biological energy, will reach 200 billion yuan with an annual growth of 26 percent.
This year, Zhongshan is building a slow and safe system for walk, bikes and buses as a measure against traffic jams. At the same time, Zhongshan is going to invest 1.5 billion yuan in urban and rural environment in the following 3 years. Besides, more efforts will be made for the management of Qijiang River and both banks. Definitely, these measures will bring citizens a more bureautiful environment.
