The project of upgrading street lamps in major urban areas is on full swing. The first phase work is to replace 34600 normal street lamps with energy-efficient LED lamps, and the work is expected to be accomplished by the end of the year.
It is roughly estimated that about 45000 street lamps in major urban areas will be substituted and after the upgrading, about 24 million kilowatt of electricity will be saved every year.
