"It's a good year of harvest. My bananas have been sold at good price." said banana farmer Chen Shenglun, who grows 53 hectares of bananas in Zhongshan and the price are 40% higher than that of last year.

Banana is one of the major local fruit of Zhongshan, with average price increased to 3.6 yuan per kg this year. By applying modern technology in planting and introducing better strains, Zhongshan banana farmers have seen harvest in their pockets.

According to sources, the second ISHS/ProMusa International Banana Symposium will be held in Guangzhou on September 14-18, 2009, when global experts and companies will visit banana fields in Zhongshan.
