Puji 385, a transport ship in Zhongshan, sailed back to Huangpu Town on July 6 after completing the LNG transformation and became the first existing ship in Guangdong Province to complete this transformation.
Puji 385 is 49 meters long and 11 meters wide, with a depth of 3.1 meters and a draught of 2.8 meters. Its load capacity reaches 1,000 tons. The ship is mainly operational for the transportation of common goods on the Pearl River waterways of Guangdong Province.
"Puji 385 was originally a diesel-powered ship. The completion of its LNG transformation marks that Zhongshan's inland water transport has entered a stage of green and low-carbon development." An official of the Zhongshan Bureau of Transport said.
It is estimated that by October this year, Zhongshan will finish LNG transformation for 7 ships in order to boost "green shipping".
