Wuguishan District.
The Guangdong Provincial Forestry Bureau recently
released the 2019 List of Forest Towns in Guangdong Province and equally plans
to identify 55 towns in Guangdong as provincial-level forest towns. Five towns
and districts in Zhongshan, namely Huangpu, Wuguishan, Sanjiao, Shenwan and
Dongsheng, are on the list.
In 2017 and 2018, nine townships in
Zhongshan, namely Nanlang, Banfu, Guzhen, Nantou, Henglan, Xiaolan, Tanzhou,
Dongfeng and Shaxi, successively won the provincial-level forest town title. The
city now has 14 provincial-level forest towns in total.
As early
as 2016, Zhongshan took the lead in Guangdong in proposing the idea of group
development and universal joint establishment, thereby extending the concept of
building a forest city to towns and villages. According to planning, Zhongshan
will strive to build a universal forest town network by 2020.
