Mutual recognition of AEO (Authorized Economic Operator) between customs departments of the Chinese mainland and Macao took effect on June 1.
On May 31, workers of Zhongshan Weili Textile Co were preparing the goods to be delivered to Macao via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge Zhuhai Port.
The company is an AEO-certified enterprise mainly engaged in the production and R&D of gloves, socks, scarves, hats and other clothing accessories, and Macao is one of its major export destinations. In 2022, Weili Textile registered exports of US$ 21.31 million with Macao, accounting for 21% of its total exports.
"As an AEO-certified enterprise, we can enjoy facilitation measures such as preferential inspection at Macao Customs and reductions in trade costs," said Liang Shunhui, customs manager of Weili Textile, adding that the company's exports with Macao will increase by 5% to 10% this year.
