On March 17, the first "point-to-point, one-stop" special bus organized by the Zhongshan Human Resources and Social Security Bureau for employees from Hubei arrived in Zhongshan after traveling for nearly 20 hours and over 1,000 kilometers. It brought 76 workers from Xiantao City back to Zhongshan.
As soon as they got off the bus, each employee received a special gift, which contained hand sanitizer, leaflets on policies, and other items.
According to the staff of the Zhongshan Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, these 76 migrant workers from Xiantao City, Hubei Province who were picked up by the chartered bus work in 11 towns and districts in Zhongshan city, including Torch Development Zone, Shiqi District and West District. They would be picked up by special buses dispatched from township human resources and social security departments, and would be quarantined and monitored for their health.
"There will be a small peak of returning workers in the coming week," said Wang Chaogang, director of the Zhongshan Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, adding that in order to help 55,000 migrant workers who are waiting to return to Zhongshan, the Bureau has sent a working group to Hubei Province to carry out coordination work.
