The Implementing Rules of Zhongshan Special Funds for Commercial Development (Projects to Promote Foreign Trade), issued by the Zhongshan Bureau of Commerce, has taken effect since September 23.

According to the Implementing Rules, small and micro companies may receive financial support of up to 200,000 yuan for the purchase of export credit insurance, and not more than 300,000 yuan for medium-sized companies and ordinary companies.

Companies which import products or serve as import platforms can also receive financial support in specific cases. The maximum amount of support for innovative import platforms with import value between $10 million and $20 million shall not exceed 1 million yuan. For those with an import value of $20 million or more, the maximum amount of support shall not exceed 2 million yuan.

The Implementing Rules also encourage export companies to expand international markets. For exhibition organizers that organize relevant companies to participate in exhibitions, each booth shall be subsidized with 1,000 yuan, with the maximum amount of support not exceeding 100,000 yuan. For specially-decorated booths, the maximum amount for support shall not exceed 200,000 yuan. For self-run trade exhibitions abroad, an additional support equal to 70% of the venue rental fee (for the exhibition area of Zhongshan exhibitors only) shall be provided, and the maximum amount for each project shall not exceed 500,000 yuan.

In addition, up to 400,000 yuan will be given to companies that participate in trade research.
