China (Guangdong)-Vietnam Economic and Trade Cooperation and Exchange was promoted by Guangdong People’s Government, Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade in Hanoi, Vietnam on the 14th. At the conference Guangdong and Vietnam signed a batch of investing projects, two of which were from Zhongshan and received special attention. Vietnamese vice prime mister, Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh, CPC Politburo Member, General Secretary of CPC Guangdong Committee, General Secretary of CPC Zhongshan Committee Xue Xiaofeng were present at the signing ceremony.

After introducing and promoting the investment climate, Guangdong and Vietnam signed a series of trading and investing projects, including 11 major cooperative projects, two of which were from Zhongshan and ranked top 2 on the list, one rice import project of 60 million US dollars and one tapioca import project of 40 million US dollars. The above two projects are the only trade projects in the conference and receive special attention from Vietnamese industrial and agricultural departments because agricultural export bears an extraordinary significance for Vietnam.

Zhongshan delegation will cooperate with Chaozhou delegation to hold a special promotion conference in Ho Chi Minh City and then move to Malaysia and Singapore. Hou Yibin and some other city leaders are in the delegation.
