Fresh vegetables exported from Zhongshan have successfully passed U.S. customs inspection like U.S. Customs, and FDA, entering into the American market. That is to say, after a 6-year suspension, Zhongshan begins to export vegetables to the USA .

These exported vegetables including lotus root, water chestnut and kudzu, amount to 21.28 tons, were provided by Jintao Fruit and Vegetable Co., Ltd. Due to the higher standard and decreasing demand, the export of vegetable from Zhongshan to USA has been suspended for six years.

In the year of 2010, Zhongshan have exported 36756.6 tons of vegetables, worth 9.638 million US dollars, witnessing an increase of 26.1% and 30.3 % respectively compared with last year. Now there are 7 vegetable-processing companies and 15 farming bases supplying vegetables for Hong Kong and Macao. Zhongshan exports 10 trucks of vegetables to Macao and 1 for Hong Kong daily, amount to 100 tons in total. The percentage of vegetables supplied to Macao account for 78% of the total export, and the export of vegetables from Zhongshan occupies 30% of vegetable market in Macao.
