It is learned from Zhongshan Customs that export and import value of Zhongshan from Jan. to Dec. 2010 reached 31.12 billion dollars, increasing by 27.2% compared with that in the last year, among which Export was 22.51 billion dollars, up 26.9% and import 8.61 billion dollars, increased by 27.9%. The trade surplus was 13.9 billion dollars.
In the past year, Hong Kong, European countries and America remained to be the three major trade partners of Zhongshan, but with an obvious increase of newly emerging markets. Hong Kong was Zhongshan’s largest trade partner, and America, the second, followed by European Union, Japan and ASEAN. The trade with Hong Kong achieved 7.67 billion dollars, up 25.8% while that with America attained 5.47 billion dollars, up 24.4%. Trade between ASEAN and Zhongshan increased with an impressive 42.2 percent rate to reach 2.21 billion dollars. Trade with other new markets is also growing rapidly.
