Eighty-five administrative villages (communities) have passed the examination and assessment recently, adding the number of ecological demonstration villages to 105 in Zhongshan in 2013.

Requirements of ecological demonstration village cover many aspects, including hygiene qualification rate of drinking water, atmospheric environment quality of surface water, forest coverage rate, treatment status of domestic sewage, coordination between community construction and surroundings, infrastructure of environment protection and beautiful environment and so on. According to the implementation program, Zhongshan plans to establish 100 ecological demonstration villages (communities) with a proportion of 80% among all villages and communities.
